Contributor Highlight: Harpreet Singh Everest

"I was born and raised in Yuba City, CA, and was lucky enough to learn Punjabi along with English in my own household growing up. This has been a valuable asset for my daily life in so many ways. I have been able to effectively communicate with people who have language barriers in my professional life, and also am able to have full conversations in Punjabi with my family, namely elder family members, both in the US and in India. I am eternally grateful that I have the opportunity to pass this on to future generations. This was my inspiration to contribute to the Anmol Punjabi 1 Textbook. This textbook will provide the same opportunity afforded to me to our younger generation. I am humbled to have been able to contribute to this book, and look forward to its lasting impact on our Punjabi community!"

Harpreet has been active in the Sikh community since childhood. He participated in the Hemkunt speech competition and also organized several Sikh youth camps throughout the U.S. He graduated from Yuba City High School, earned his Bachelor's in Genetics at UC Davis and his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from USC. His passion has always been centered around helping those in need through leadership. He was Student Director of the USC Dental Mobile Clinic and he also taught at USC for three years upon graduating. He also became a personal trainer/fitness coach and has worked with a myriad of clients in achieving their fitness needs, namely those in the Punjabi community.

Harpreet not only edited and formatted the Anmol Punjabi series for printing, but also facilitated communications with printing and publishing, and is an active member of the social media management for this new adventure. Thank you for your contribution Harpreet!
